Call me stubborn, but I refuse to pay a lot of money for something if I can make it myself. Kimono jackets are everywhere at the moment and the ones that caught my eye were priced upwards of £40. I was convinced I could make one for a lot less.
There are lots of tutorials on the internet showing how to make a kimono jacket. However, I went for the easier option and instead of making one from scratch, I decided to alter a kimono-style dressing gown. There are hundreds of dressing gowns on eBay. If you don’t believe me, just look… (after you read this post, of course). I bought one that I liked, chopped it and hemmed it. Simple.
Kimono jackets are really versatile and can easily be worn dressed up or casual.
To keep the cold out I teamed mine up with a men’s cummerbund I found in a charity shop.
My kimono only cost me £14, but there are even cheaper dressing gown bargains to be found on eBay. Go on, have a look.
ps, Wanna find out what happens when you lean on an unlocked garage door…?
You fall through, that’s what !!
