I don’t know whether it’s the sunny weather, but I seem to have gotten my blogging mojo back. Not only that but I also seem to be trying lots of new things recently. Here is a list of some of the new things that have come my way:
Homemade mocha frappe
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a serious addiction to the chilled mochas served in my local coffee shop. They are seriously good. However, travelling across town whenever I need a fix is not always practical and goodness knows how much I’ve spent on them in the past year. Anyway, whilst I was on one of my jaunts into my local Home Bargains store I saw these:
They’re not quite coffee shop standard and there’s not much in a sachet (barely enough to fill a small coffee cup, see below), but for less than £1 each they will most definitely tide me over until my next trip to town. Plus, I can vouch that they taste lovely when combined with pain au chocolat!
Chartreuse, or bright neon yellow to me and you, most definitely was NOT a colour I ever wore. But, Pinterest eventually wore me down. So much so, in fact, when I spotted this vested beauty in Matalan for just £6, I succumbed to temptation. Sheer and floaty, it’s the perfect top for summer and is great for layering up (I wear mine with a strapless top underneath to protect my modesty – ahem!).
It’s a great alternative to the jersey vest tops you see everywhere and I’ve subsequently discovered that these tops are available to buy online and in different colours too. Click here for more details, but don’t hang about, once word gets out, these little beauties will fly off the shelves.
I am very blessed to have a wide circle of friends who are both amazing and supportive in equal measure. However, not all of them quite get the concept of blogging. I’ve been blogging on and off now for two years and it’s great when to meet other like-minded souls who like to put random thoughts on the internet.
This weekend I’m off to Blognix. Held in Birmingham, it’s a convention for bloggers from all over the UK to,
celebrate all that is positive about blogging, learn new skill that will equip them to take their blog further, and forge new connections with others’
Needless to say, I’m beyond excited. It’s always good to improve your skills and the portfolio of speakers that they have lined up is impressive. Unfortunately, I think registration has closed for this year, but I promise to tell you all about it when I get back…
Navy blue eyeliner
After reading this post by Estee, I was inspired to try navy blue eyeliner and after reading this post by A Thrifty Mrs, I realised that Glamour Magazine was giving one away with their most recent issue.
Free stuff – yay!
So I decided to give it a whirl…
The verdict? Well, the jury is out, shall we say. Even though the blue gave a softer line than jet black, the dark tone of my skin meant that the overall effect was minimal. Still, it had cost me nothing and it meant I had a magazine to read in the garden, so as the saying goes, ‘every cloud….’
I’ve loved all my new discoveries and I’m tempted to try more. Have you tried anything new recently? I’d love to hear from you. If you’ve found something amazing, leave a comment below and maybe I can try it too!
That’s all folks!
