striped midi dressSo here in the UK spring arrived and we all got a little excited. We shaved our legs (past our knees) and hastily got ourselves beach ready. Unfortunately, just as suddenly as spring came, it soon went away again and we were all left a little disappointed, disgruntled, and cold.

Until the warm weather makes a more permanent appearance, I’ve decided that what I need are items in my wardrobe that can handle the daily transition from cold, to warm to cold again. When I spotted this dress on eBay, I knew that it would fit the bill.

striped midi dressLight enough to be layered with other items, the midi length and long sleeves are enough to keep my exposed limbs warm too. I plan on wearing it all through summer (depending on how well it washes, of course; at that price I’m not expecting miracles – I’ll keep you posted).

School Run Chic

Can I just pretend that I don’t rock up to the school every morning in the same black jean/sweatshirt/Nike trainers combo? That I don’t turn up to the school sans make-up and with wet hair? Great, because in that world this would totally be something I would wear on the school run. The long shirt would keep you warm whilst waiting in the school playground (aka the windiest places on earth). Ideally, I would dress this down with a pair of studded ankle boots, my new H&M fedora and a stylish backpack.

Coffee with friends

I’m a stay-at-home mum, so when I’m not lazing in front of the telly watching Homes Under the Hammer and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I like to spend my time in coffee houses, chatting to my friends. This is totally what I’d wear for that.

Next brogues, sold out. Find similar here and here.

Date Night

I call this look the ‘Man-alive! This dress looks good dressed up too!!’ – look, because I can’t believe how simple it is to make this dress look a bit more special too. Everyone has a pair of black heels and a fancy necklace in their wardrobe. Team it up with a black clutch bag and a cinch belt and you’re good to go.

So there you have it, possibly the best £5.99 I’ve spent in a while. Unfortunately it’s sold out in the other colourways, so if you want to grab yourself a bargain, you’ll need to be quick.

Oh, and if you’re wondering how I managed to style these pics so well, it’s because I had help…

Blimey, these fashion types are getting younger and younger!
