We finally had our family summer holiday in the sunshine. Last week we went to the island of Kos, Greece. Our days were spent enjoying the wall to wall sunshine, either lounging by the pool or sitting on the beach. it was the perfect slice of relaxation that we all needed. I went through 3 books in 3 days and it was bliss.Although the apartments where we stayed were fairly basic, our girls took great pleasure in splashing around in the pool, playing in the hotel playground and lying in the hammock. They even had fun following the mother hen and chicks that made an appearance at various times of the day, pecking around the sunbeds.
The gardens outside our room were full of fruit trees. I couldn’t quite reach high enough to pick an orange or a lemon, but I did pick a lime to take home as a souvenir. The perfect addition for a post-holiday Mojito.
I had intended to continue blogging whilst I was away and write a few posts, but sometimes it’s good to just switch off and concentrate on the people around you. We had a great time together making memories that we’ll treasure forever.
Watch out for Part 2 of our holiday adventures.
